RAIN / INTERVIEW / MERCH
Heavy rain today.
↳ Nina Interview
Today there’s a new interview up with Nina – in conversation with writer (and friend) Steph Kretowicz, talking about my recent record Atlas, how anything can be ambient, LA, slow changes and more. Check it out here!
↳ Atlas (AWE001)
It’s been four months since Atlas came out into the world. Thank you for all of you who have listened and engaged with the music. I’m so glad that the music continues to float beyond my headspace. Some of you may have noticed that that the dearly beloved and ever essential Boomkat named it their 2023 AOTY. Together with Awe we pressed up a special smoke crystal version, along with an exclusive 100 min mixtape - go check it out here!
A huge note of thanks as well to all of you who came out to hear Atlas live - as always it is a strange dream to be out touring. There’s a masochistic thrill to it, perhaps in the dice throw of execution. The duo shows with Leila Bordreuil are the wildest for me as Leila’s sensitive improvised interpretations of the record’s atmosphere challenge and inspire me to be a better musician overall. There’s more Atlas shows in the works for this year, so stay tuned…
↳ Merch
Due to popular demand we did a restock of Awe caps, the FEELING LOST? Tee and Bumper Sticker. Hyped to have such gorgeous pieces to offer - made in collaboration with Can’t Decide & designs by Hugo Blanzat. Stay tuned for more Awe drops in 2024…
↳ Awe on NTS
here’s the latest Awe on NTS – rusty & blue…

↳ Recent inspo/thoughts
Most recently I was deeply into The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño and listening to a lot of Aerial M and Slint. I’m thinking a lot about the use of distortion and simple melodic and harmonic ideas.
I love this quote from the book, which describes the overwhelming number of creative and critical and curious voices in the world, who mostly go unheard, and are ultimately buried in the sands of time.
“To come near the work, to sail in her wake, is a sign of certain death, but new Criticism and new Readers approach her tirelessly and relentlessly and are devoured by time and speed. Finally the Work journeys irremediably alone in the Great Vastness. And one day the Work dies, as all things must die and come to an end: the Sun and the Earth and the Solar System and the Galaxy and the farthest reaches of man’s memory. Everything that begins as comedy ends as tragedy.”
Thanks as always, and more soon.
